Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) a subsidiary of Coal India Limited under the guidance of The Forest Research Institute, Dehradun has successfully grown paddy at its degraded mined out area of Kusunda ecological restoration site in Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
The results are encouraging with paddy successfully cultivated on 20’x20’ area. Presently, sugarcane and paddy are being cultivated and the crops seem to be healthy.
If established, cultivation will be a new avenue of income generation for the people living around the mining areas.
