Under the chairmanship of Prof. Anshumali (HOD, Dept. of ESE & Coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad), EIACP (PC-RP) at Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and EIACP (PC-HUB) at Department of Forests, Environment & Climate Change, Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi jointly organized the Youth Parliament 2023 on LiFE: Stage-I online debate competition cum group discussion for Jharkhand State on 15.05.2023. 27 students of under-graduate and post-graduate in the age group of 18-25 yrs from different colleges/institutions/universities/organizations participated in the competition and debated on concerned issues related to the field of environment and climate change. 10 students were selected by the selection committee on the basis of the student's content/topic/substance matter, presentation skill, oratory skill, subject knowledge/clarity of thoughts and confidence level. Smt. Smitha Pankaj, IFS, Conservator of Forests & State Silviculturist & Coordinator, EIACP (PC-HUB), Jharkhand, Ranchi, Prof. Anshumali, HOD, Dept. of ESE & Coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and Prof. Vittal H., Assistant Professor, Dept. of ESE & Co-coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad were present as the members of the selection committee.
The overarching theme of the Youth Parliament is ‘Individual Behaviour and habits have an impact on environment and climate change’.
