This two-day introductory course targets industry professionals with no prior geological training. It will provide an understanding of fundamental geological principles and provide the background required to communicate more effectively with geoscientists. The course provides preliminary exposure to the main geologic principles that are employed in petroleum exploration. It introduces the various "tools of the trade" and explains their use. Examples are provided from a small selection of the major plays in the locale where the course is taught. The course provides a practical and useful overview of geology for those able to dedicate only two days to this important topic.
