ExpominMexico is the national mining show of Mexico held every two years in Acapulco. The show is organized by the Congress of Mexican Geologists, Mining Engineers and Metallurgists. The show draws more than 1000 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors and is typically sold out well before the event occurs.

Over the past few years, Mexico has been able to position itself as the eighth most important trading economy in the world. In Latin America, Mexico is the single most influential trading economy. Since an economic liberalization policy was put in place in 1994, Mexico has signed 12 Free Trade Agreements which have helped to drive its trade activity into a higher level of global competitiveness and to create a "pro-initiative" economy. There are more than 20 foreign mining companies currently exploring in Mexico, of which 75% are Canadian. In addition, there are more than 100 registered Mexican mining companies producing in the country.
