10-12 March 2015: Geosynthetics for Geowaste Facilities

March 10, 2015 - March 12, 2015 | Live Webcast Format

Webinar

Geowaste facilities have to last and perform in the post-closure long term. This webcast focuses on how geowaste (tailings, waste rock, and heap leach) facilities can be cost-effectively designed, constructed, operated and closed, while minimizing the environmental risks that are inherent with these structures. The emphasis is on the judicious use of Geosynthetics to manage mine water in normal and extreme environments. The course also focuses on the use of Geosynthetics in promoting the stability, integrity, and longevity of mine waste facilities.

The course is intended for all who manage, operate, design, or approve (as regulators) geowaste facilities. It is also for those who are interested in advances in the use of Geosynthetics in such structures as part of the process of enhancing mine water management and the functionality and economy of such facilities.
