The course encompasses a review of the theory and principles of field portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, considerations of data quality and data management, as well as examples of practical applications such as geochemical mapping of surface materials and lithogeochemical classification of rock types and alteration.
Participants will develop an understanding of the uses and limitations of the portable XRF analyser for the purpose of real-time geochemical data acquisition in an adequate and appropriate fashion.
