In the recent years, there have been great regional efforts to diversify economies away from oil and gas, and to further develop other natural resources and associated industries. In addition to economic diversification, these initiatives create jobs, add to local expertise and have a ripple effect on other industries, which in turn ensure the sustainable growth and development of leading cities.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched many of such initiatives across the country in all major sectors, and the expansion of its mining sectors is amongst such leading activities. The province of Al Madina, rich in many mining resources and known globally as the cradle of gold, has huge potential to be uncovered. The province’s untapped mining resources, spanning across thousands of kilometres and including a number of minerals, gold and metals, offer a huge potential for Al Madina’s further development and present an extremely lucrative business opportunity to local, regional and global mining experts. Therefore, The Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has tasked International Quality and Productivity Center, IQPC, to organise the inaugural Mining Investment Opportunities Forum- Al Madina Al-Munawarah 2014, to bring together all stakeholders and mark the new phase of development in the province’s mining sector.
The aim of this forum is to highlight the mining potentials of the province, whilst clearly stating the investment opportunities, partnership requirements and technological advancements that could realise this vision and further the mining sector in Al Madinah.
