30 Sept - 30 Sept 2016: African Iron & Steel Conference 2016 - 2nd Anniversary

September 30, 2016 - September 30, 2016 | Johannesburg, South Africa

Maputo, Mozambique

After the successful launch of the first African Iron and Steel Conference in Maputo, the second event will be taking place in Johannesburg. The inaugural conference looked at a region set to be changed by its first rebar mill. This year, by bringing the event to Johannesburg, discussions will be focused on the challenges faced by new and established mills and miners across Africa.

While the iron ore industry remains in the doldrums and steel is feeling the pinch of global economic pressures, Africa remains a continent of huge importance for a global market that is looking for the next wave of demand. Come to Johannesburg to meet the leaders, investors and governments that are making the changes necessary to transform this continent.

Reason for Attending:

  • Hear about the future of the African iron ore industry
  • Meet with government ministers and hear first-hand what their policies are
  • Learn about the future of the iron and steel supply chains in Africa and hear what will be produced
  • Discover what the experts think about the potential for African steel production and demand
  • Gain in-depth insight into what it takes to develop crucial infrastructure projects in the region, port, rail, road, and power plant developments
  • Network with the length of the iron and steel supply chains across Africa and internationally
