The Ethio- International Mining Expo and Conference is launched for the first time and presumes to be the largest event in the East African region. The major preparations are completed to receive and welcome hundreds of delegates, exhibitors and distinguished speakers from all parts of the world in a vibrant, lovely metropolitan Addis with a variety of tastes and opportunities.

In addition, to the exhibition and expo of the mining activities, this June gathering is accompanied with a side event of conference by outstanding and distinguished speakers capturing current and global issues of the mining and energy sector as an engine for sustainable industrial development and economic growth. We expect a dozens of key note presentations-covering topics of energy resources, industrial minerals, mining infrastructure and resource corridors, issues on Artisanal, small and large scale mining and corporate social responsibility, new and advanced exploration technologies, geo data and the mining investment climate among others along with broad plenary addresses. The mining and energy solutions to the development challenge comities to harness mineral endowments for the benefits of its people and bring sustainable and equitable development via structural transformation. Ethiopia has a good geological potential and gifted with mineral resources that feed the growing industry. Limited geo-scientific investigations and data so far conducted have helped to reveal significant resources of gold and industrial minerals (potash, tantalum, coal, iron etc) as well as oil and natural gas. Ethiopia is now becoming one of the major mining and investment destinations in Africa where the mining sector is expected to be an economic catalyst for the country’s Growth and Transformation Plans (GTPs) and contributes at least 10% of the GDP within the coming ten years (GTP2 and GTP3).
Ethiopia’s strategic location in Africa as economic and political seat of the African Union and of various international organizations; served and connected from every part of the globe by the best airline in the continent, having the largest shipping lines in Africa, the fourth largest and fastly growing economy in sub Saharan Africa along with highly motivated, skilled young workforce and attractive customs and tax exemptions on mining equipments and machineries as well as a secured peace and stability and many more would be an attraction for a serious mining investment.
