INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS AND RESOURCE EFFICIENCY

Society is entirely dependent on steel. Since steel plays a central role in societal development, the steel industry has a responsibility for people and our environment, as well as for helping to create a society that is sustainable over the long term. Efficient, sustainable iron and steelmaking is essential for meeting increasing demand while at the same time safeguarding our planet.

Through innovative solutions, resource efficiency and optimization of manufacturing processes, the steel industry can contribute to realizing the vision of a circular economy while at the same time improving the competitiveness of the industry.

At SCANMET, researchers from industry, institutes and universities from throughout the world meet to exchange knowledge and experience concerning process development in iron- and steelmaking. Here, you will meet the steel industry's leading researchers and process developers, together with decision-makers from industry and organizations.

In response to growing international interest in process integration, the 2nd International Process Integration Forum is being arranged in conjunction with SCANMET V. In several sessions, the forum will address issues concerning optimal resource usage and energy efficiency, systems analysis and optimization of industrial production systems for reduction of emissions and environmental impact.
