ENVIS NATIONAL REVIEW MEET (NRM) 2019

A 1 day National Review Meet for ENVIS Centers was held on Tuesday, 2nd April, 2019 at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jor Bagh Road, New Delhi.

 

The meet was organized by ENVIS Secretariat, EI Division of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC).

 

The Guest of Honour Shri. C.K. Mishra, Secretary, MoEF&CC, GOI inaugurated the ENVIS Exhibition. Other Special invitees present at the meet were Dr. Kailash Chandra, Director, ZSI, Shri B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Director General, EPTRI, Dr. Ashok Ghosh, Chairman, BSPSB, Prof. S.K. Barik, Director, NBRI, Dr. Deepak Apte, Director, BNHS.

 

The meet started off with Principal Adviser, Dr. Anandi Subramanian, presenting the Observations of the ENVIS Scheme as a whole followed by the inaugural address by Secretary, MoEF&CC, Shri. C.K. Mishra and few brief addresses by the dignitaries at the dias.

 

Few presentations by various ENVIS RPs and HUBs were also presented on topics likes, Water Availabilty and Quality, Bird Spots, Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs), Protected Areas, Tiger Reserves Corridors, About Western Ghats, Air & Water Pollution Stations, Plastic Waste Management Facility (PWMF), Mangroves and Coastal Regions, etc. Few ENVIS Knowledge/ Information Products from various ENVIS RPs and HUBs were released by Secretary, MoEF&CC.

 

Hand-on-Training on EAT/ PFMS was given. A presentation on SDG by DDG, MoEF&CC and SoER Template by AD, Statistical Cell, MoEF&CC and on NES-ISBEID application by NIC was also given. Demonstration of the newly being developed ENVIS Portal/ ENVIS Network Websites was also given. Few Discussions on GSDP - MTs, Placement facilitation and NES- GRIDSS were done. The event was wrapped up by Principal Adviser, Dr. Anandi Subramanian followed by the vote of thanks by Joint Director, M/s. Urmila.
