The Annual Convention for Deans & HoDs of BIS MoU Partner Institutes in the 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 was successfully held on 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡–𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 in Goa.
Organized by 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 (𝐁𝐈𝐒), the event brought together academic leaders to discuss 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 to enhance environmental education.
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
- 𝐈𝐧-𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on standard formulation and its role in environmental sciences.
- 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on the existing scope of committee under Environment and Ecology department and future roadmaps.
- 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 and panel discussions for knowledge sharing and identifying new standardization topics, relevant literature and experts in the field of environment and ecology.
- 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on sustainable Finance and on how to integrate standard formulation into the academic course curriculum.
- 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 of digital solutions available at BIS website.
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝:
- Guidelines for reuse of mine water
- Code of practise for safe disposal of sanitary napkins and diapers
- Water Body rejuvenation by Nature Based Solution
The convention strengthened the 𝐁𝐈𝐒 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜, ensuring that environmental science education remains aligned with evolving national and global standards.
