The EIACP Programme Centre (RP) at the Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm on 26th January 2025 at the Oval Garden of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The event witnessed the participation of School Children, Students, Research Scholars, Faculty Members, Staffs and residence of IIT(ISM), all coming together to honour the spirit of the nation.
Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, proudly hoisted the national flag, embodying the spirit of freedom and progress. Following the flag hoisting, a vibrant patriotic cultural programme was performed by school students. Their performances, filled with national pride and enthusiasm, added a special charm to the event, reflecting the essence of Republic Day.
Adding to the celebrations, the EIACP Programme Centre (RP), Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, organized an inspiring prize distribution ceremony, recognizing and rewarding the outstanding talents of students who had excelled in the Drawing/Poster Making Competition held on World Ozone Day, 16th September 2024 and the Speech Competition conducted on 23rd November 2024 as part of the Mission LiFE Awareness Programme. A total of 27 students from various schools and colleges across Dhanbad were awarded prizes under different categories for their creativity and commitment to promoting environmental awareness.
Prof. Sukumar Mishra, along with his wife, Madam Smt. Sakuntala Mishra, graced the occasion and presented the awards to the winners. Their presence and words of encouragement inspired the young participants, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and responsible citizenship. The prize distribution ceremony was efficiently conducted by Prof. Alok Sinha, Head of the Department of Environmental Science & Engineering and Coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, along with his dedicated EIACP (PC-RP) team. The event not only acknowledged academic and creative excellence but also reinforced the institute's efforts in fostering environmental consciousness among students.
