Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary (Coal), chaired a meeting on Safety Protocol in Coal Mines , with senior officials of Ministry of Coal, DGMS , along with the Chairman CIL and CMDs of Coal CPSEs attending virtually.

The Secretary stressed the need for a thorough examination of safety protocols and emphasized inducting trained personnel from existing manpower. He assured all support to DGMS, and emphasized on collaborative approach and self assessment of mines.

He also urged coal companies to go the extra mile in enhancing safety and implement preventive safety audit mechanism to make mines safer & hazard-free.
