Keynote Lecture delivered by Prof. Swatantra Pratap Singh under Mission LiFE Keynote Lecture Series on 19.07.2024

On Friday, 19.07.2024, the EIACP Programme Centre (RP), Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, organized a Keynote Lecture as part of the Mission LiFE Keynote Lecture Series (2024-25) - Integrative Approaches to Sustainable Development: Innovations, Challenges, and Solutions. The keynote lecture, titled "Fabrication of Electroconductive Surfaces and Membranes for Environmental Application" was delivered by Prof. Swatantra Pratap Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering (ESED), IIT Bombay.

 

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Alok Sinha, Head, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering and Coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Prof. Sinha extended his gratitude to the keynote speaker and acknowledged the presence of faculty members, staff, and research scholars who attended the lecture.

 

Prof. Swatantra Pratap Singh's lecture provided an in-depth exploration of innovative techniques and applications of electroconductive surfaces and membranes in addressing environmental challenges. Prof. Singh's insights into the fabrication processes, particularly focusing on laser-induced graphene (LIG), and its applications in developing anti-biofouling and catalytically active membranes for desalination and wastewater recycling, were highly appreciated by the attendees. Prof. Singh talked about these innovative approaches and their significant contribution to water conservation and pollution reduction, promoting sustainable, eco-friendly technologies for environmental applications.

 

Around 60 participants, including faculty members, staff, and research scholars attend the lecture. The engaging and informative session significantly enriched the overall experience of the attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable development and environmental applications. Prof. Singh's insightful presentation and expertise greatly contributed to the success of the event.
