As part of the एक पेड़ माँ के नाम under the Plant for Mother campaign launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister PM Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of World Environment Day, Hon'ble Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav, along with Hon'ble Minister of State Shri Kirtivardhan Singh and other senior officials of the Ministry, set up 'Matri Van' at Asola-Bhati Wildlife Sanctuary, New Delhi by planting trees on degraded forest land.
The campaign aims to plant 140 crore saplings in 2024-25, with a milestone of planting 80 crore saplings by September. This initiative honors our mothers while combating climate change, improving air and soil quality, supporting biodiversity, and enhancing carbon sequestration. Various stalls showcasing eco-friendly products were set up by EIACP Centres: IFGTB EIACP (PC-RP), GBPNIHE EIACP (PC-RP), WWF EIACP (PC-RP), SPA EIACP (PC-RP) and Sulabh-IIHH EIACP (PC-RP).
