Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi is organizing a 4-day onsite training programme for regulators on “Tools for pollution management in small and medium scale industries” from 26 -29 November 2024 at CSE’s training campus in Nimli, (near Alwar), Tijara, Rajasthan.
The air pollution caused by small and medium-scale sectors is mainly due to use of dirty fuels, inefficient technologies, improper functioning of APCDs, poor waste management practices and housekeeping practices etc. Similarly, water pollution occurs due to the unavailability of suitable treatment technologies and the discharging of industrial effluent without any adequate treatment. For all above-mentioned issues, one of the major reasons are lenient environmental norms, polices and lack of regulatory enforcement.
To regulate the pollution caused by small and medium scale sectors, it is very important to have an understanding of the sources of air and water pollution and follow good regulatory practices like environmental monitoring, framing and implementation of guidelines and best practices and cleaner fuel policy. Therefore, recognizing this need to build the capacity of regulators on various tools to regulate pollution in small and medium scale industries, CSE is conducting this programme. The training programme will be comprised of lectures, class exercises, hands on experience of pollution monitoring and participant’s experience sharing sessions.
The training programme is a fully funded course. Reading material too will be provided to the participants for their perusal.
