Study Abroad – India Programme for the Students of University of South Florida-St. Petersburg, USA on “Mining, Environment and Sustainable Development” during 05.08.2014 to 18.08.2014 jointly organized by Centre of Mining Environment and Department of Mining Engineering. The team of Students from University South Florida was lead by Prof. Madhu Pandey. In the time table, the coverage of mining environment and sustainable development has been planned meticulously and structured accordingly so as to provide a comprehensive knowledge on the basic principles and practices of different mining environmental issues. All the components of environment, namely, society, ecosystem, land, water regime and atmosphere have been touched upon. This was then followed by Experimental work in different Environmental Laboratories as well as field trip to underground mine and washery complex of Velatand Mine, TISCO.
