Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Professor (HAG), Centre of Mining Environment organised A Stakeholders Workshop to share the finding and response on the study on “REIA of Goal Mining Region” on October 28, 2013 at Goa International Centre. About 180 participants from various sectors such as regulators (viz. GSPCB, IBM, DGMS, DMG), mining companies (V.M.Salgaokar, Fomento Resources, Timblo Private Ltd., Sesa Sterlite Ltd., Chowgle Company Pvt. Ltd., M/s R. S. Shetye and Bros., D. B. Bandodkar and Bros Pvt. Ltd., SMIPC), NGOs (Goa Foundation, Vivekanand Environment, Peaceful Society, Green Ray Foundation), academic institutions (CEE, NIO, Goa University), Gram Sabha and Panchayats, Goa Truck Association and Goa Barge Owners Association made workshop a great success.
