Aerosol Lab of Department of ESE, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Shines at IASTA 2024 Conference

The Aerosol Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Saifi Izhar, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering(ESE), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, made a remarkable impact at the IASTA 2024 Conference, held at Doon University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from December 17-20, 2024. This prestigious conference, organized by the Indian Aerosol Science and Technology Association (IASTA), focused on the theme "Aerosol Impacts on Air Quality, Human Health, & Climate Change."

 

This year, the conference saw participation from around 500 attendees, with over 300 posters presented across four days of plenary lectures, oral presentations, and exhibitions.

 

Three members of Aerosol Lab at Department of ESE, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad showcased their work:

 

  • Kumar Gaurav Mishra (22DR0113): presented a poster titled, "Optical and Isotopic Source Profile in Size-Segregated Traffic and Combustion Sources in Dhanbad."
  • Nazneen Tabish (23DR0091): presented a poster on "A Comparative Study of Oxidative Potential Assays on Source-Specific Particles."
  • Shreya Nandi (23DR0161): delivered an oral presentation on "Comparative Analysis of the Polymer Composition of Airborne Microplastics Across Dry and Wet Deposition."

 

The highlight of the conference was Nazneen Tabish being awarded the Second Best Poster Award for her outstanding work.
