EIACP (PC-RP) on Environmental Problems of Mining

IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP) conducted an awareness programme under Mission LiFE at Project Balika Ucch Vidyalaya, Govindpur on 20.11.2023. The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Anshumali, Head, Dept. of ESE and coordinator, EIACP (PC-RP), IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Astha Singh, Principal, Project Balika Ucch Vidyalaya, Govindpur, in the presence of Dr. Parul Maurya, Programme Officer, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP), Mr. Bishwajit Das, Information Officer, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP), Mr. Durga Das Chandra, IT Officer, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP), and Ms. Supriya Bistu, DEO, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP). Around 170 students, teachers, and staff participated in the programme and were sensitized on Mission LiFE. Awareness materials, creatives and posters highlighting the 7 themes of LiFE Mission were disseminated during the programme. Documentary videos on Mission LiFE were also shown to the students and were encouraged on becoming a Pro-Planet-Person by choosing ‘Environment Friendly Alternatives’. A quiz competition was also organized among the students and winners were awarded with certificates and prizes. Mission LiFE Cotton/Jute bags were distributed among the teachers and staff of the school encouraging all to use these cloth bags instead of plastic bags with the vision to reduce use of single use plastics. Mission LiFE pledge was also taken at the end of programme.
