EIACP (PC-RP), Department of ESE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad organized awareness programmes and outreach activities under Mission LiFE at two schools located in Baghmara, Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, on 08.11.2023. Students, teachers and staffs of the schools participated in the event and were sensitized on adopting sustainable lifestyle practices for a sustainable environment and encouraged to become Pro-Planet-People by choosing Environment Friendly Alternatives. During the programme awareness materials, creatives and posters highlighting the 7 themes of LiFE Mission and A-Z Lexicon of LiFE were distributed to promote sustainable lifestyle for environment. The participants were also told about the need to bring behavioural changes among individuals for significant impact on the environmental and climate crises. Mission LiFE Quiz Competition was also conducted among the students during the programme. Students were informed about the ongoing Drawing competition under 7 themes of LiFE Mission that is being organized by IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP). Few drawing kits were also gifted to the students and were encouraged to participate and showcase their ideas and creative artworks on sustainable lifestyle for environment. Mission LiFE Cotton/Jute bags were distributed among the teachers and staff of the school encouraging all to use these cloth bags instead of plastic bags with the vision to reduce use of single use plastics. At the end of the programme all students, teachers and staff members of the school took the Lifestyle for the Environment Pledge and recited the mantra of Mission LiFE, "Prakriti Rakshati Rakshita", which means, those who protect nature, nature protects them". Around 250 students, teachers, and staff from Rajkiyakrit Madhya Vidyalaya, Bhatmurna and 30 students, teachers, and staff from Prathamik Vidyalaya, Raghunathpur participated in the programme and were sensitized on Mission LiFE.

Mr. Bishwajit Das, Information Officer, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP) delivered a talk on "Sustainable Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE)" and Dr. Parul Maurya, Programme Officer, IIT(ISM) EIACP (PC-RP), conducted a quiz competition on 7 themes of Mission LiFE.
