Initiative is being taken to develop a detailed scientific plan for water conservation in Dhanbad district. In this connection, on Friday, 09th June 2023, IIT ISM's HOD of Dept. of ESE, Prof. Anshumali along with his team Prof. Tinesh Pathania (Asst. Prof. Dept. of ESE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad) and Prof. Riya Dutta (Asst. Prof. Dept. of ESE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad) had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad, Shri Sandeep Singh and Deputy Development Commissioner of Dhanbad Shri Shashi Prakash Singh. The DC and DDC shared the objectives with IIT (ISM) Dhanabd as a technical partner in Jal Shakti Abhiyan and the expectations of the district administration from the institute. The DC asked the IIT team to prepare a preliminary report by the end of July, with necessary support from the administration and the process to be adopted to ensure maximum water conservation by providing alternative sources to the people of Dhanbad. For this, funding will be done through DMFT for DPR and projects. District Planning Officer, Executive Engineer of PHED one and two and officials associated with DFMT were also present in the meeting.
