Centre of Mining Environment/Dept. of Environmental Science & Engineering organised Training Program & Study Tour on “EIA of Mining Projects” under The World Bank aided Project on ‘Sustainable Development of Natural Resources in Afghanistan Mining Sector ’during December 17-30, 2011.This program was organized by Professor Gurdeep Singh for the ESIA board members and other senior officials/Professors of the Afghanistan.Participants undertook field vists to have first hand experience of how EIAs are formulated, the EC process and actual implementation and monitoring aspects apart from interactive sessions on various focal themes of EIA .Participants were also provided with the interactive sessions with the EAC members and also with the interactive meetings with the MOEF,MOC,CPCB,FIMI etc. besides exposure to NCR highway projects, Mathura refinery and the Taj Mahal.
