Dr. (Mrs.) Profulla Soni, Head, Ecology & Environment Division, FRI, Dehradun delivered a lecture on “Ecological Restoration of Mined Land - Problems and Prospects” at Centre of Mining Environment, ISM, Dhanbad on 8th March 2011.
She highlighted on topics like restoration, land reclamation, National Mission for Green India and so on. Students got a realistic image of how restoration practices are being carried out in different parts of our country. Her lecture also made them realize how by following nature’s footprint degraded landscapes can be restored by plantation of fast growing, stress tolerant and economically important tree species.
