Speaking on the occasion the CEO commended the efforts made by RSP in the direction of a sustainable environment. He said that each activity planned and executed should contribute to making a better environment rather than merely complying with the environmental norms. He also emphasized the need of further reducing specific energy consumption. Adoption and installation of the latest techniques will definitely help in reducing air, water, and land pollution, but the effort should be made to ensure zero discharge, said the CEO.
It is worth mentioning here that apart from adopting the latest environment-friendly steel-making technologies, RSP has also taken various measures for the treatment of pollutants at their source of generation. Electrostatic Precipitators, Bag Houses, Multi Cyclones, Dry Fog Dust Suppression Systems, Dust Suppression Systems, and Wet Scrubbers, etc. have been installed in various units to reduce or separate air pollutants.
In addition to this, RSP has also taken up various green projects for Environment Protection viz., installation of Solar Power Plant, installation of 40KLD Solar Water Heating Systems in Ispat General Hospital, LED lighting system in place of the traditional lighting system in Township and inside steel plant, etc.
