3 Day Training Program on "Groundwater Resource Management in Industrial Areas"

Training Programme for three days was sponsored by Department of Environmental Science and Engineering,IIT(ISM),Dhanbad, titled “Groundwater Resource Management in Industrial Areas commenced on 8th August 2018 and concluded on 10th August 2018. A total of 21 participants from different organizations namely, Central Coalfield Limited, Ranchi; Northern Coalfield Limited, Singrauli; South Eastern Coalfields Limited, Bilaspur; Western Coalfields Limited, Nagpur; NIFFT, Ranchi etc have attended the programme. The Valedictory Session was held on 10th August 2018 at 12.30 P.M. in the seminar hall of EDC,IIT (ISM),Dhanbad. Shri Subrata Halder, Chief Engineer of DWRID, Government of West Bengal, was the Chief Guest. While welcoming the chief guest, Prof. S.K.Gupta, HOD/ESE,IIT(ISM), Dhanbad highlighted the activities & initiative taken in the Course and suggested for taking initiative for modernizing of villages through this type of training. The chief Guest speaks about the training of groundwater modeling should be implemented in organizations like Coal India for better management of groundwater resources. Chief Guest also said that there should be a strong need for duration of training program to get more practical and appropriate knowledge. All the participants have shown their satisfaction in respect of the content, delivery and presentations of all the topics covered during the programme and participants also appreciated their study visit to Putiki-Balihari, BCCL Dhanbad and the certificates were presented to all the participants by the Chief Guest.
