WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
5TH JUNE 2014
ISM Dhanbad celebrated WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on 5th of June , 2014. On this occasion, Drawing & Collage Competition and Plantation of Tree Saplings were organized under the aegis of the 'Department of Environmental Science & Engineering'. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. P.S. Gupta, Director-Incharge & Dean (F&P), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
1. Drawing & Collage Competition:
School going children upto Std. X were welcomed to participate in the Drawing & Collage competition.
Students from Nursery to Std. X under 4 Categories participated and expressed their views through their art. Different category had a different theme and topic to draw or make their collage on.

2. Plantation of Tree Saplings:
Plantation of Tree Spalings took place at-
- i. Department of Environmental Science & Engineering
- ii. Saphire Hostel
- iii. Garden Near Rock Excavation Lab. (Opposite to the Seismological Observatory)
Saplings consisting of Fruit trees (Mango, Guava, Jamun etc.), Flowering trees (Gulmohar, Ixora, Jacaranda), Timber (Teak, Neem) and Bamboos were planted.
