WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
5TH JUNE 2013
ISM Dhanbad celebrated WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY on 5th of June , 2013. On this occasion, Drawing & Collage Competition and Plantation of Tree Saplings were organized under the aegis of the 'Department of Environmental Science & Engineering'. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. R. Venugopal, Director-Incharge & Dean (R&D), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
1. Drawing & Collage Competition:
School going children upto Std. X were welcomed to participate in the Drawing & Collage competition.
Around 150 students from Nursery to Std. X under 4 Categories participated and expressed their views through their art. Different category had a different theme and topic to draw or make their collage on.

2. Plantation of Tree Saplings:
Plantation of Tree Spalings took place at-
- i. New Teachers Colony, Govindpur road side, ISM
- ii. Square Park, near ISM Gate
- iii. Teacher's Enclave, Park area (near UGC colony), ISM
About 200 saplings consisting of Fruit trees (Mango, Guava, Jamun etc.), Flowering trees (Gulmohar, Ixora, Jacaranda), Timber (Teak, Neem) and Bamboos were planted.
