WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
5th JUNE 2010
Centre of Mining Environment/Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2010. Several participatory activities were organized in the campus, such as:
Tree Plantation Plantations of a few ornamental trees were done in the ESE Complex and near the ISM Staff Colony. Prof. T. Kumar, Prof. Gurdeep Singh and ESE faculties, staffs, research scholars, as well as other staffs of ISM also joined in the plantation activities.

Sit & Draw Competition
Sit and Draw competition was organised as usual. Around 200 students from Nursery to Std. X
took part and expressed their views through the art. The programme was inaugurated by Prof.
T. Kumar, Director, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

Extempore Speech
Extempore Speech also organized by Deptt. of ESE, ISM, Dhanbad. Around 20 students from Std. XI and Std. XII took part and expressed their views on the topic “Biodiversity is Life ......
Biodiversity is Our Life”.
