World Environment Day

Centre of Mining Environment, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad,
celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2009. Several
participatory activities were organized in the campus, such as:
Sit & Draw Competition
Sit and Draw competition was organised as usual. Around 200 students from Nursery to Std.
X took part and expressed their views through the art. They have been divided under four categories on four focal
themes as given below:

The programme was inaugurated by Shri N.K. Sinha (IAS), Joint Secretary (T), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
Extempore Speech
Extempore Speech also organized by CME, ISM, Dhanbad. Around 20 students from Std. XI and Std. XII took part and expressed their views on the topic YOUR PLANET NEEDS YOU ! UNITE TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE.
The programme was ended with prize distribution among the successful candidates.
