NMDC’s iron ore output up 13.2 percent in April-July

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first four months of the financial year 2016-17 (started April 1) it produced 9.55 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 13.2% year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 10.2 million mt, rising by 9.8% year on year.

 

During the first four months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 3.71 million mt, down 2.2%, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 21.6% to 5.84 million mt, both year on year.
