CM asks Chinese to invest in mining and mineral sector

 

HYDERABAD | June 27, 2016:

Making a strong pitch for investments in the mineral and mining sector, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has exhorted Chinese Aluminium manufacturing major Hanzhou Dingsheng Industry Group to invest in the new State which offered tremendous potential.

 

The Chief Minister, who is in Tianjin, China, leading a high-level delegation at the World Economic Forum meeting, met Hanzhou Dingsheng Group chairman Zhou Xiangai and senior representatives. The Dingsheng Group engaged in manufacturing of air-conditioned aluminium foil has expressed keenness in investing in the mining and mineral sector in the State.

 

Mr. Naidu explained to the senior representatives that the State was endowed with rich mineral wealth. He elaborated on the advantages of investing in the State and the opportunities offered.

 

He explained how A.P., which commenced its journey as power-deficit State, had now emerged as power surplus within few months as a result of the proactive policies put in place by his Government. The State was blessed with sufficient water resources and skilled manpower ready to adapt to new technologies and best practices.

 

The Chief Minister later met Sri Lankan Minister for Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama and the latter enquired about the progress of works on Amaravati.

 

Mr. Samarawickrama told the Chief Minister that the island nation was keen on working with Andhra Pradesh, especially in the tourism promotion sector.

 

Mr. Naidu said his Government had adopted the port-led development model for making the State the gateway to South East Asia.

 

The Chief Minister also called on Kuwaiti Danish Dairy company CEO Mohammed Jaffer and the latter had expressed interest in exploring opportunities in India, especially Andhra Pradesh, for expanding their business here.
