Single Window Nod for Projects of Rs 420 Crore

 

BHUBANESWAR | Feb 24, 2016: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) on Tuesday accorded in principle approval to three investment proposals worth Rs 420.35 crore.

 

The projects approved by the single window authority include the proposal of Grid Construction Ltd to set up a 60,000 tonne per annum aluminium and aluminium alloy conductors manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 127.35 crore.

 

Grid Construction Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), will set up the unit at the aluminium park in Angul being developed jointly by National Aluminium Company (Nalco) and the State owned Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (IDCO).

 

“The aluminium conductor unit will use molten aluminium to be supplied by Nalco. The project would offer direct employment to 50 persons,” general manager, Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (IPICOL), Kalyan Mohanty told reporters after the meeting.

 

The SLSWCA meeting chaired by Chief Secretary AP Padhi approved the proposal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to set up an LPG bottling plant at Balangir with a total investment of Rs 100 crore.

 

The other proposal that was cleared was that of SOM Distilleries and Breweries Odisha Pvt Ltd. The company proposed to set up 10 lakh hectolitre capacity brewing industry and 10.8 lakh hectoliter per annum capacity bottling plant near Khurda with a total investment of Rs 193 crore. These two plants are expected to create 493 direct and indirect employment opportunities, Mohanty said.

 

The single window authority along with the members of the State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG) also reviewed the progress of earlier approved investment proposals. Those proposals were of Transmission Pvt, OMC, Tosali Cement Pvt Ltd, Aditya Almunium Project, Bhusan steel Ltd and Emami Cement Ltd. Nalco’s proposal for construction of 220 KV transmission line from Laxmipur to Damanjodi and expansion plans of Odisha power Generation Corporation Ltd also figured in the discussion.

 

Issues relating to land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach road, DGPS survey, power supply, use of water were discussed and resolved.

 

Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary Forest and Environment SC Mohapatra, Principal Secretary Steel and Mines RK Sharma, Principal Secretary Water Resources PK Jena, Principal Secretary energy Rajesh Verma, GRIDCO MD Hemant Sharma and IDCO MD Sanjaya Singh participated in the discussion.
