Gopal Singh named as new CMD of NMDC Limited

 

Hyderabad | Jul 01, 2015: Public Enterprises Selection Board (PSEB) today recommended the name of Central Coalfields (CCL) chairman cum managing director Gopal Singh for the post of CMD of NMDC Limited.

 

In a statement putout on its website, PSEB said it had interviewed 13 persons for the selection process earlier in the day.

 

Those who were interviewed include four directors of NMDC, two directors of SAIL and one director each from RINL, CIL, HCL apart from the CMD of HSCL Moyukh Bhaduri, CCL CMD Gopal Singh, PGCIL executive director V Sekar and KIOCL CMD Malay Chatterjee.

 

PSEB is responsible for selection and placement of candidates for board level positions in the Central public sector undertakings.

 

Earlier the board had short-listed 15 people, some of whom were dropped out of the race and some new names were included, according to the sources.

 

Gopal Singh is working as the CMD of Central Coalfields Limited from March 2012. Born in 1961, Singh graduated from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in 1981 and started his professional career as Mining Engineer at Rajrappa Area, CCL, according to the company website.
