SAIL to come to Bundelkhand, MOIL in Balaghat

 

BHOPAL | Jun 08, 2015: Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will start a vitrification plant in Chhattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh and MOIL (Manganese Ore India Limited) a ferro-alloy plant in naxal-affected Balaghat. Union minister for steels and mines Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday said that SAIL will come to Bundelkhand while MOIL and NALCO would set-up power projects while also establishing smelter plants in the state.

 

The Union minister was here in Madhya Pradesh capital to brief the media on achievements of Narendra Modi government's one-year in office. Speaking on upcoming projects in Madhya Pradesh under the steels and mines ministry, Tomar said, "There is huge deposits of iron-ore in Chhattarpur district which is why SAIL will bring its vitrification palette plant to the Bundelkhand region. NALCO will start an aluminium smelter plant in the state soon as a coal block is allocated for it in a location with adequate bauxite deposits in the neighbourhood."

 

He said NALCO will also establish a 20 MW solar power plant in Agar-Malwa district for which land will be allocated by the state government. Hindustan Copper Limited will expand its Malajkhand project while the National Mineral Development Corporation will excavate the diamond deposits in Panna district.

 

MOIL will work in Balaghat mines and set-up a beneficiation plant. MOIL will also establish a 25 MW solar power plant in Shajapur district along with its ferro alloy plant in Balaghat district.
