HYDERABAD | May 12, 2015: A 16-member German delegation, representing firms and institutions engaged in the mining sector, met Telangana Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Monday and expressed willingness to extend their service and share expertise.
In particular, the delegation offered to assist technical institutes (mining) in the State to enhance skill development in the mining sector, including fault finding and handling of modern machinery.
An official release said the firms and institutions were engaged in manufacturing of mining machinery, provided consultancy services and imparted mining education and skill development. Besides the Minister, senior officials of the Department, including Secretary Arvind Kumar and TSIIC vice-chairman and managing director E. Narasimha Reddy briefed the visiting team about the State government’s initiative to promote industrialisation.
Highlighting the State’s industrial policy and mechanisms to issue time bound clearances for projects, he said investors would be assured of a hassle-free environment and best services from the government. The officials gave clarification on queries posed by the delegation, including on the power plants proposed and skill development programmes.
Team meets SCCL head
A press release from Singareni Collieries Company Ltd said representatives of 15 German companies met chairman and managing director N. Sridhar and explored opportunities to supply modern equipment.
The list of companies that included Siemag Techberg, Kamat, DMT, SMT Scharf and Kleemann, supply modern equipment and technology to various coal firms around the world and come forward to supply to SCCL.
Mr. Sridhar briefed the delegation about Singareni’s plan to increase production to 80 million tonnes and use of modern technology.
He urged the companies to submit a comprehensive plan of equipment supply and maintenance.
The delegation members agreed to visit SCCL mines areas.
