Anti-mining cell seizes 39 dumpers during crackdown

 

Nainital | Feb 13, 2015: The anti-mining cell on Friday seized 39 dumpers from Ramnagar and Pirumadara areas in course of a campaign to prevent illegal mining in Kosi and Dabka riverbeds.

 

"The vehicles seized were carrying sand and stone from the site. Our team found almost every guideline had been violated in the quarries being mined along the river beds," said Rahul, divisional forest officer, Tarai West.

 

The anti-mining cell and the forest department conducted raids along Kosi and Dabka riverbeds after several complaints of illegal mining were reported from the region.
