Hyderabad | Jan 19, 2015: The State-owned miner Singareni Collieries Company Limited plans to step up output during the remaining part of the year from 1.6 lakh tonnes to 2 lakh tonnes per day. The move is aimed at increasing output and also ensuring seamless supplies to its customers.
N.Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director of SCCL, who visited some of the mines recently after assuming office, had a detailed review with Directors, Field and Corporate General Managers and decided to revise upwards output target.
The revised daily targets have been fixed based on the potential of the mines and projects. The review also covered blueprint for next year production targets so as to ensure double digit growth.
During the meeting, according to SCCL, he reiterated the new State aspiration to provide 24x7 power supply to the agricultural and industrial sectors. To meet this challenge, the State Government is planning 8000 MW new capacity addition in next 3 to 4 years.
Being part of the programme, the miner is keen to strive towards intensification of production from the existing mines and advance the opening of new mines wherever feasible.
NEW PROJECTS
Some of the projects identified for the next year are BPA OC-II, JVR OC-II, increasing the production from RKP OC and Adriyala Longwall Underground Project.
He advised all the area general managers to communicate the message about need to increase output to all 60,000 employees. With the cooperation and commitment of all employees the revised milestones would be achieved.
The review is likely to give impetus to new initiatives and yield positive results thereby giving confidence to all the stakeholders.
