Green signal to Rungta Mines in Saranda

 

Noamundi(Odisha) | Jan 8, 2015: In order to grant forest clearence to M/s Rungta Mines Limited a Gram Sabha was held at Upgraded Middle School, Usruia Village under Forest Rights Act 2006 on Thursday.

 

The meet focused on Rungta Mines Limited, Kodlibad Iron and Manganese Mines 350.74 hector land from mining affecting 12 villages of Saranda under Monoharpur Block. Chaibasa District Welfare officer Ishidur Suren was a chief guest while Poga Munda presided over the Gram Sabha.

 

The villagers expressed their views before the Government officials and Rungta Mines authorities demanded job opportunities, drinking water facilities, residential English medium schools and medical hospital.

 

The villagers made it clear before the government authorites, “There was no dwelling of Traditional Tribes like Birhor, No Government Electricity connection, No public health Center and flowing streams at the Mining lease area of Kodlibad Iron and Manganese Mines”.

 

The villagers of 12 Villages gave unanimously the green light to the forest clearance for the Messer’s Rungta Mines Limited, Kodlibad Iron and Manganese Mines 350.74 Hectors Land at Gram Sabha.

 

Rungta Mines General Manager (H.R) Ramu Agrawal assured the mining affecting 12 remote and tribal villages to fulfill all the expectation of the villagers.

 

On the occasion Block Welfare officer Rajendra Bada, Circle officer Pankaj Kumar Sao, Pramukh Gurubari Devgam Manki –Munda including a large number of villagers of 12 tribal villages was present.
