Govt to ensure Swacchta in mining areas

The state government has decided to organize Swachchata Pakhwara (Cleanliness fortnight) in the state from December 16 to 31. According to the directives issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, under the Swachcha Bharat Mission, instructions as per the prescribed points have been issued to the District Collectors.

 

The state government has issued directives to ensure action regarding cleanliness in the mining areas of the district as per the prescribed points. The compiled information on 3 points will be sent to the Ministry of Mines at the end of Pakhwara. Directives have been given for works by setting 7 action points as regard to the cleanliness in the mining areas. These points include clean mines, to make rural and urban areas open defecation free in the proximity of mining areas, beginning of pilot schemes for zero waste mine, publicity of cleanliness through banners and posters, to set order of mines on the basis of cleanliness, provision of cleanliness kit to the mining labourers besides plantation and to organize voluntary programmes. The District Collectors have also been told to encourage lease holders for initiating works during the period of Pakhwara on the set points for creating clean atmosphere in the mining areas in compliance to the directives of Ministry of Mines, Centre. During the pakhwara, description regarding daily action will be sent to the Government of India. Directives have also been issued for wide publicity regarding Swachchata Pakhwara at district level and to apprise Directorate of Geology and Mining with action taken on set points every day.
