On the eve of the 24th Foundation Day of Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), the head of the institute SN Singh stated in a press conference that IICM is going to create a new landmark in near future which probably would be the first in India. Singh said that Coal India Chairman Gopal Singh will be the guest of honour on 24th Foundation Day Ceremony of IICM to be held on November10.
After evaluating the educational and training works of IICM, Coal India Limited Chairman Gopal Singh has advised IICM to work for getting status of university as Indian Institute of Earth Sciences in order to make his dream turn into reality.
Notably, on the occasion of the Foundation Day of Coal India Limited, Minister of Coal and Railways Piyush Goyal had in presence of Secretary (Coal) laid the Foundation of Indian Institute of Earth Sciences. The proposed Indian Institute of Earth Sciences will be a landmark in the field of Mining and will impart technical education in a modern way considering the environmental aspects also.
It will also offer master programme in different fields of management with modern methods. SN Singh is not only engaged in the development of the Institute but is also actively involved in efficient utilization of human resources in national interest.
IICM General Manager AK Mishra on the occasion informed that IICM has provided training to 1,800 executives of Coal India Limited in the year 2016-17 who are doing good work in their own fields after training.
"Thus IICM is not only contributing towards the growth of the company but also is playing in important role in enriching the nation," said Mishra. Other officials of CCL were also present on the occasion.
