Geology & mining bids farewell to outgoing officer

The department of Geology and Mining Nagaland bade farewell to retiring OSD & PRO Nagaland Petroleum and Natural Gas Board (NPNGB) O. Koratemjen Ao in grand a programme at Nagaland civil secretariat Kohima on Thursday.

 

Director, Geology and Mining, Wanthang Rengma in his address said O. Koratemjen Ao joined the service in 1982 as assistant Geologist and today he was retiring in good health after serving as OSD for 10 years. Acknowledging his service for the department, Rengma said Koratemjen had contributed much for the department with his experience, systematic work and guided many government officials during his service. Director described the retiring officer as not only a technocrat but as bureaucrat and professional geologist. Koratemjen had served the department for 35 years. Managing director NSMDC Ltd Er. T. Longri Ao said that Koratemjen was a reliable officer, capable, possessed appreciable qualities, and ever willing to help others. He wished him and his family a successful retired life. Secretary, Imjung M Panger in his address appreciated and acknowledged the contribution of Koratemjen for the department. Secretary also highlighted the bio-data of Koratemjen and his service journey in the department. O. Koratemjen Ao in his farewell speech said that he had worked with several top bureaucrats of the state and learnt so many things from them and encouraged the young officers to emulate the same. Ao said he was leaving the unfinished tasks of the department to the upcoming officers. He informed to the gathering that after retirement life he would work for the social justice in the society. He also disclosed to the department staff that he never worked for money but worked sincerely as it was his duty.

 

Jt. Director, S. Manen also spoke on behalf of Nagaland Geo-scientist Association.
Programme was led by M. Hangsing addl. secretary, invocation prayer by Kedulkhwe Chirhah joint secretary, special song presented by the department staff and closing remark by Er. Tsuknung jamir. Benediction prayer said by Lily. Programme was attended by staff of Geology and Mining, well wishers and others.
