Rajkot | Aug 30, 2017: At least 19 persons were arrested in connection with illegal mining of sand from the river bed of Bhogavo in Wadhwan town of Surendranagar district.
Those arrested include Dalsukh Dalwadi, Keshi Gosai and Raju Bhuraji. In all, FIR was lodged against 24 persons, which also included a police constable with Jinjuvadia police station Chetan Gosai.
The FIR was lodged by police inspector Krunal Patel of RR Cell of Rajkot. Patel and his team raided banks of river Bhogavo on Tuesday and arrested the accused. They also seized two earth movers, seven dumper trucks, one SUV and three tractors. A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused.
