Check illegal mining: Ranchi DC

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar on Thursday directed the mining officials to check illegal mining taking help of the task force and also to collect fine if someone was found involved in such practices. Kumar during a review meeting of various departments at the Collectorate Office in Ranchi, also directed the officials to increase the revenue by take immediate steps towards the cases related to the auctioning of mining leases.

 

“Steps must also be taken in the matter related to the private builders so that revenue could be increased,” said the DC. He also directed the revenue officials to prepare monthly work plan for better results.

 

The mining officials present during the meeting informed that a target of Rs 119.76 has been fixed for the year 2017-18 out of which Rs 35.87 crore has already been collected.

 

While reviewing Registration Department, the DC was told that a target of Rs 288.44 crore has been fixed by them while collection of Rs Rs 40.81 crore has already been done.

 

The DC also reviewed Transport Department where he directed the officials to prepare a work plan for the financial year 2017-18 and also to expedite the checking drive for the anomalies like overloading and permit related issues and take steps for collection of dues from big defaulters. The DC, during the meeting, was told that the transport department has fixed a target of revenue collection of Rs 171.10 crore for the current financial year against which Rs 23.96 crore has already been collected.

 

While reviewing Excise Department, the DC directed the officials to conduct a survey related to the number of shops and their rents and submit report to the district headquarter. The officials informed him that a target of Rs 565.56 has been fixed and Rs 96.08 crore has been collected so far.

 

The DC directed all departments to prepare a work plan to increase their revenue collections. The meeting was also attended the officials of the concerned departments.
