Kothagudem | July 06, 2017: Singareni Collieries Company Limited Chairman-cum-Managing Director N Sridhar on Wednesday presented Rs 50 crore cheque to the SouthCentral Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav at the Rail Nilayam in Hyderabad towards its first phase of contribution to the Rs 620-crore, 53.20-km-long Kothagudem-Sattupalli broad gauge railway line.
Sridhar urged the railway authorities to complete the railway line by the time the Kistaram Open Cast Mines would be ready in 2019.
The railway authorities told the CMD that land acquisition for the railway line has been kicked off and tenders have been called for construction of some bridges and sought the SCCL cooperation in securing necessary permissions from the government. The CMD, assuring the railway authorities of cooperation, agreed to release funds as and when the railways required
Vinod Kumar told the CMD that the railway line would be ready within two years after acquisition of the land. The railway line is useful in eco-friendly transport of coal as the JVROC mines production capacity is going to double soon to 100 lakh tonnes. The railway line is useful to supply coal to various thermal power plants in Telangana.
Executive Director (Coal Movement) of the SCCL N Srinivas, General Manager Co-ordination J Nagaiah, SC Railway Chief Operations Manager N Madhusudan Rao, FA&CAO Padmini Radhakrishnan, Chief Engineer (constructions) G Brahmananda Reddy, Chief Freight Traffic Manager B Nagya, GM (coordination) J Nagaiah and others were present.
