21 trucks impounded for illegal transportation of minor minerals

 

Ponda | June 06, 2017: Director of Mines and Geology today conducted raids at various places under the guidance of Technical Assistant Officer and seized 21 trucks for violation of rules and illegal transportation.

 

The inspection was conducted by Anthony Lopes, Technical Assistant of Directorate of Mines and Geology along with other staff for illegal transportation of minor minerals.

 

At Honda one basalt and one sand truck were seized, while at Mardol one truck involved in transportation of river pebbles was seized. At Farmagudi six trucks were seized which included one for transporting basalt, one for laterite while one was seized for laterite rubble, river pebbles and transporting of sand. Besides, at Keri, Sattari 5 trucks were seized for transporting basalt, at Porvorim seven trucks were seized which included one for laterite stone transportation, while four basalt transporting and one sand transporting truck were seized and one river pebbles transporting truck were seized.

 

The seized trucks were handed over to the custody of respective area Police Station.
