Date | May 04, 2017:

Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate BN Singh on Thursday approved three sand mining sites for the e-tendering process. E-tenders are open from May 5 to May 15. The details of the mining sites have been uploaded on website, etender.up.nic.in.

All three selected sites are in Sadar tehsil. One site of 10 acres is in Kondli Bangar village and the area is expected to generate one lakh cubic metres of sand.

The second site of 10 acres is in village Aurangabad and is expected to generate around 80,000 cubic metres of sand.

The third site, of 7.4 acres, is in village Tilwada and will generate around 59,200 cubic metres of sand.

Navin Kumar Das, district mining officer, on Thursday said,“Successful bidders will be allotted short term licences of six months at these sites. There are six other long-term sites and these were auctioned in the past for long-term mining as per the court orders. But, later, a stay order was issued on the auctions. Presently, the state government has introduced short-term mining licences scheme.”

“Mining permission will be given for six months, but the monsoon period from July 1 to September 30 will be excluded,” Das said.

For the e-tendering process, one can seek help from the district NIC office. “Several persons on Friday came to inquire the about e-tendering process,” said Pawan Mangal, district informatics officer.

“The successful bidder has to procure environmental clearance as per norms and also get the mining plan approved,” Das said.
