Yadadri-Bhongir | April 26, 2017: District Collector Anitha Ramachandran on Wednesday directed mines and mineral resources committee to work towards protecting mineral resources which would increase revenue in the district.
Ramachandran presided over the district-level mines and mineral resources meeting which was conducted at Collectorate on Wednesday.
Collector said mineral resources were spread across 35 villages in the district. If we succeed in generating revenue from the mines, we can get funds from Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) for development of these villages.
She also instructed committee members to prepare a plan to provide basic amenities to villages where mineral reserves were located. She asked the members to visit the villages and submit a report on the development works required to be taken up there.
The committee members and District Revenue Officer (DRO) R Mahender Reddy, District Rural Development Officer (DRDO) S Venkat Rao, Assistant Director of Minies Venkateshwarlu and others also attended the meeting.
