Lucknow | Apr 11, 2017: The Uttar Pradesh government today gave its approval to a short-term policy on mining, in order to end the scarcity of construction material in the state.
The state governments green signal came following the submission of a report by a Group of Ministers headed by deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Elaborating on this, UP cabinet minister Siddhartha Nath Singh said, "The government has allowed only e-tendering route to grant permits for mining in a limit of 10 acres of area during the next six months period to cope with the shortage of sand and other building materials."
The government also announced that transportation of mining produce would only be allowed with MM-11 (transit) permit in the state.
Apart from this, valid transport permits of other states would also be allowed for transportation of mining produce.
